The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick is a historical fiction novel set in 1963 Virginia, following suburban housewives Margaret, Viv, Bitsy, and Charlotte as they form a secret book club to discuss The Feminine Mystique, sparking feminist awakenings, challenging societal expectations, and forming deep friendships. The book explores themes of female ambition, the limitations placed on women in the 1960s (like needing a husband's permission for a bank account), and the power of sisterhood, offering a humorous and nostalgic look at a pivotal time in women's history.
We are requesting a small $5.00 club fee for the overhead cost.
